I’ve been waiting to answer this question, and the day has finally arrived!
Anon, it just so happens that my favorite holiday starts tonight at sundown. Do you know which one it is?
If any of you were wondering, Rosh Hashanah is our New Year! I’ve already written a post in the past explaining it , so I thought I’d do something different this year. This year, I want to show you guys how to make something you’ll see everywhere this time of year:
…Well okay, you see challah all the time. We eat it at shabbat, after all, and that happens every week. But! During Rosh Hashanah, the challah is round and sweet, so it’s very special and very tasty. This is a time to eat sweet things, in honor of a sweet new year!
Since so many people eat challah, there are lots of different ways to make it, but most people follow a pretty simple recipe. The recipe I picked to share with you guys this year is pretty simple too, so I think it should be familiar to those of you who have eaten challah before. For those of you who haven’t, it’s simple enough that I think you should be able to follow along pretty easily.
Let’s get going! [OOC: Recipe used in this post is taken from this site, and measurements are all American, because mun is American. Sorry about that!]

Trying to really pin down the features I want for Aviva. I like this a lot, so I thought I’d share it!
I like scifi but I rarely post or talk about it at all, so. Here’s an OC that doesn’t have a name yet because I’m bad at those and they always end up coming last.
She doesn’t have hair under there, but rather long, flat, somewhat pliable scales. They might look a bit like feathers from a distance, but are formed differently. She keeps them trimmed so her hijab fits better. There are others of her species who follow religions that wear head coverings who don’t trim their scales, but she’s keen on a more Earthling-like silhouette. Plus, like human hair, maintenance is easier with short scales. Win-win!
Her great-grandfather served with a unit from Sol (our solar system, fuck off, you come up with a better name) in the Galactic Forces and converted to Islam from a star-worship religion native to the northernmost region of his home planet.
This lady works in the medical sector of a bustling research post on Ganymede, and collects outdated robotic prosthetics, which she fixes up as a hobby. As a result of this hobby, she has a pet arm.
